Amravati: Police have registered a case of alleged kidnapping, extortion, and criminal intimidation after a 35-year-old trader from Pathrot was abducted at knifepoint on Saturday.The complainant, Jakiullah Khan (35), of Pathrot in Achalpur tehsil, told police he was intercepted near Maharashtra Ginning on the Anjangaon Surji–Pandhari road. According to the FIR, the accused allegedly forced the complainant into their car, and drove toward the Dharni road route. During the drive, Ansar Ahmed allegedly threatened Jakiullah with a knife-like weapon, demanding Rs2 lakh linked to a prior business transaction.The complaint states that the accused threatened to kill the trader and burn his body if he did not pay. When he refused, he was allegedly assaulted and his belongings were forcibly taken before he was released. Based on Jakiullah’s complaint, Anjangaon Surji police have filed a case against Tausif Ahmed (35), Mohammad Ashur (29), and Ansar Ahmed (29), all residents of Pathrot, Achalpur.
