Chatra: A 26-year-old woman was killed and her husband and two-year-old daughter were seriously injured after tractor laden with illegally mined sand hit their motorcycle on Friday. The deceased woman was identified as Khushboo Devi, 27. Her husband Dilip Ravidas and the couple’s daughter are undergoing treatment at a hospital.Police said Dilip, a resident of Barisakhi (Mayadih) village, was returning home with his wife and daughter when the accident took place near Hanuman temple at Brahmpur Mor under Giddhaur police station limits.Eyewitnesses said the tractor, which was heading towards Chatra, lost balance when its driver allegedly panicked and attempted a sharp turn after spotting a police vehicle coming from the opposite direction. The manoeuvre, which was made to avoid interception, ended in a disaster as the tractor rammed the motorcycle. Khushboo fell and was crushed under the tractor’s wheels. T the driver escaped.
