Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will distribute appointment letters to newly selected candidates in various govt departments through video conferencing from Delhi on Saturday at around 11am as part of the 19th edition of the Rojgar Mela.Around 51,000 appointment letters will be handed over to candidates recruited in departments including railways, home affairs, health, finance and higher education. The recruitment drive will be conducted simultaneously across 47 locations in the country including Patna, Hajipur, Samastipur and Gaya, ECR’s chief public relations officer (CPRO) Saraswati Chandra said.Union minister for food processing industries Chirag Paswan will be present at Hajipur while Union minister for textiles Giriraj Singh will be present in Patna. Similarly, Union minister of state for home affairs Nityananad Rai will be present at Samastipur while Union minister for micro, small and medium enterprises Jitan Ram Manjhi will be present in Gaya, he said.According to railway board sources, the Rozgar Mela is aimed at providing employment opportunities to youth and strengthening public services by filling vacancies in key govt sectors. The newly- appointed candidates will join various ministries and departments of the Central govt, sources said.The Centre has described the Rozgar Mela as part of its commitment to employment generation and transparent recruitment in govt departments, a Railway Board official said.
