Mapusa: A 36-year-old tourist from Thane, Maharashtra, who suffered severe head injuries after being knocked down at Karashwada, Mapusa, on Saturday by a Mahindra car allegedly driven by a drunken man while proceeding from Mapusa to Pernem, succumbed to the injuries at GMC on Sunday.Police said Akansha Bhansali was pillion riding along with her husband Kalpesh Jain and their minor daughter. Her husband and their child also were injured, as all were thrown onto the road by a car driven by David Mohite (36) from Sangli, Maharashtra, in an alleged and rash manner.Mohite, who was travelling in the same direction as the couple, crashed into them while overtaking them. Police said Mohite did not possess a driving licence. Colvale Police have issued notice to Mohite to remain present on Monday for further inquiry.
