Mysuru: A tiger that has taken shelter near a banana plantation in Chennamallipura village, Gundlupet taluk, in Chamarajanagar district, creating panic among farmers and residents in the region. Bandipur Tiger Reserve director S Prabhakaran told TOI that a tiger was found resting near the village while they were scanning the area using drone cameras. Foresters are keeping an eye on its movement and alerted villagers in the region. According to the farmers, forest department deployed a thermal drone to monitor the movement, capturing images of the tiger. Three days ago, a two-year-old male tiger was captured in the same region and has been relocated to the rehabilitation centre in Mysuru. Forest department will conduct a rescue operation. which will commence after the tamed elephants arrive.
