Jalandhar: Three youths died in a head-on collision between a car and a cargo vehicle on the National Highway between Phagwara and Goarya, when the car jumped to the other side of the central verge and hit the other vehicle. All three youths from Muthada Kalan village died on the spot, while the driver of the other vehicle was badly injured in the accident.The accident took place in early afternoon near Mauli village of the district. The youths were travelling in Toyota Etios car from Phagwara towards Goraya when their vehicle jumped the central verge and collided with a Tata 407 truck coming from the other side.The three youths who died have been 23-year-old Shaheen Mohammad, 22-year-old Daljeet Bhatti and 17-year-old Armaan Mehmi. Truck driver Vijay Kumar suffered fractures in his legs. Police officials suspect that the car could be speeding, causing the accident.
