Patna: Three youths riding a motorcycle died on the spot after an unidentified speeding truck hit their bike on Sunday night near Chauhan Tola on the Palasi–Bathnaha four-lane road under Narpatganj police station area in Araria district.The deceased were identified as Mohammad Arbaaz (19), Md Sameer (19) and Md Ashraf (21), all residents of Haji Tola in Dharhara village under Raghopur police station area of Supaul district. Police said the trio was returning home from Nepal via the Jogbani route after visiting the neighbouring country following Eid celebrations.According to family members, the collision was so severe that all three youths died on the spot. Locals alerted the police, following which the bodies were recovered and sent for post-mortem. The bodies reached their native village on Monday morning around 10am after the autopsy.Arbaaz was an Intermediate student, Sameer was employed with the Supaul Nagar Panchayat and was the son of a professor at Supaul Degree College, while Ashraf assisted in his father’s business. Arbaaz and Sameer were cousins, and Ashraf was their close friend.Forbesganj SDPO Mukesh Kumar Saha said, “CCTV footage from the nearby areas is being examined to identify the truck involved in the accident. Technical inputs are also being used to trace the vehicle. Teams from Jogbani police station have been deployed, and the truck driver will be arrested soon. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.”
