Three people, who were arrested in connection with a suspected arson attack which killed four family members in the Republic of Ireland, have been released, gardaí (Irish police) have said.

Philip and Kim English and two of their children – nine-year-old Jayden and 12-year-old Callum – died after their home in Birch Avenue, on the outskirts of Waterford was set on fire earlier this month.

A man aged in his 20s and a woman in her 30s were previously charged in connection with the attack.

On Saturday, gardaí said three people – two women in their 30s and a man in his 50s – who were arrested on Tuesday have been released without charge.

A fourth person, a man in his 20s who was arrested on Thursday, remains in custody.
