Patna: Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation (Buidco) has successfully completed the construction and development of three ghats — Bhadra Ghat, Mahavir Ghat and Nauzar Ghat — in the Azimabad zone of Patna into concrete ghats under the Namami Gange project. Earlier, these ghats were unpaved (kachcha), causing significant difficulties for devotees. Now, Buidco has transformed them into fully paved, modern and well-equipped facilities. The three ghats will soon be handed over to the Patna Municipal Corporation.Buidco managing director Animesh Kumar Parashar on Thursday directed officials to ensure quality construction, safety measures, proper barricading and high-capacity lighting arrangements. “Continuous monitoring is being carried out by the concerned officers to maintain high standards,” he said. The main attraction is Bhadra Ghat, where a spacious paved ghat has been developed over an area of 100 metres by 40 metres. A 565-metre-long promenade has been constructed for widening and beautification of the ghat. Modern amenities, including changing rooms, toilets and bathing facilities, have been provided to ensure cleanliness and privacy for visitors. The entire area is illuminated with high-mast lights for better visibility and safety.Considering the increasing number of devotees during the annual Chhath Mahaparv, Buidco has also constructed additional paved ghats. At Mahavir Ghat, two new concrete ghats measuring 30 metres by 20 metres each have been built. Similarly, two new paved ghats of the same size have been developed at Nauzar Ghat. Adequate lighting, sturdy barricading and proper sanitation arrangements have been made at all these locations for the convenience and safety of the public.
