Vadodara: Three members of a family were killed and one was injured after their SUV was hit by an unidentified vehicle on the Mumbai-Delhi Expressway near Bhatpura village in Godhra taluka of Panchmahal district on Monday night. The offending vehicle fled the spot after the collision, police said.The accident occurred when the family was travelling from Surat to Lunawada. The deceased were identified as Hemant Pandya (44), his wife Kinjal (42), and their son Ayush (18). Their eight-year-old daughter, Jenisa sustained serious injuries and is undergoing treatment. Hemant was a Surat-based catering businessman originally from Lunawada.Police said the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital in emergency ambulances, where three of them were declared dead. Relatives reached the hospital after being informed of the incident. Kinjal’s cousin Vipul Joshi has lodged a complaint in connection with the case.Notably, this is the second fatal accident reported on the same stretch within a week, after four members of a Vadodara family were killed in a similar crash.
