Kupwara, Aug 10: To strengthen last-mile service delivery in remote areas, District Administration Kupwara today established three new Common Service Centres (CSCs) in Block Keran.
Deputy Commissioner Kupwara virtually inaugurated these 3 CSCs and interacted with concerned Village Level Entrepreneurs. CSCs have been made operational in Gram Panchayats Mundiyan-A, Mundiyan and Pathroo, enabling residents to access Government schemes, digital services and welfare programmes at their doorstep.
The initiative followed a ground-level assessment by a dedicated team to identify existing service gaps, after which the centres were established with the support of CSC e-Governance Services India Limited.
These Common Service Centres will provide residents with last-mile access to a wide range of e-governance services, including essential government and public utility services, social welfare schemes, financial inclusion services, health care and agriculture services, apart from a host of B2C services, besides helping bridge the digital literacy gap in these far-flung areas.
In line with the vision of holistic development of border villages, the step aims to end the long travel earlier required for basic services, bringing governance closer to residents of these far-flung areas.
Locals appreciated the efforts of the District Administration in extending digital services to border regions. The District Administration reaffirmed its commitment to “Governance at the Doorstep,” with continued efforts to strengthen service delivery across the district’s remote areas.
