Ranchi: Police rescued three girls who had gone missing from places under different police stations of Ranchi district in recent days.In the first case, Ratu police rescued two sisters, aged 14 and 17, who went missing from Milan Chowk on February 8.
Ratu police station OC Ramnarayan Singh said, “Both had left home to visit a shop but did not return. We received information related to their disappearance on Monday evening and flashed the information on various platforms. Based on inputs from our personnel, we rescued the girls from the Ranchi railway station.”He said both were now in a shelter home, and the police would question them later. Prima facie, it seemed that some pressure on them from family members led them to flee their home, he said.In another incident, police have also rescued an 11-year-old girl who had fled from her maternal uncle’s home at Dibdih under the Doranda police station area on February 4.Hatia DSP PK Mishra said, “The girl had gone to the Muri station, where the Govt Railway Police spotted her and handed her over to a shelter home in Chutia on February 5. After police flashed her photo on various platforms, the shelter home officials on Tuesday informed that she was with them.”Mishra said that when questioned, the girl stated she did not want to stay with her maternal uncle. Police will hand her over to her parents, who are coming to Ranchi on Wednesday.The girl had also run away from home on January 28, but police rescued her the following day near the Dibdih overbridge.
