Prayagraj: Six persons, including three lekhpals, were booked for assaulting a couple in trans-Ganga area on June 15 during a govt inspection at Thulma village, police said.The chain of events started on June 15 when a team of revenue department officials went to Thulma village to remove encroachment on govt land. It was alleged that the couple, along with their family members and supporters, attacked the revenue department team and left a lekhpal injured.Following the incident, an FIR was registered against the couple and others. However, three days after the incident, a video went viral on social media wherein a group of people, including the three lekhpals, were spotted clashing with the couple. The husband alleged that they assaulted his pregnant wife and left her injured.DCP (Ganga Nagar) Kuldeep Singh told TOI that a cross FIR has been registered regarding the incident and cops are probing the case. Action would be initiated accordingly.
