Jhunjhunu: Three men were killed and another seriously injured in a head-on collision between a bike and a truck in Chhapar town of Churu district late Monday evening.Chhapar station house officer Indra Lal Maharshi said the victims were riding towards Chhapar when their bike collided with an oncoming truck. Bhagirath (27) and Sanwarmal (23), both residents of Chhapar, died on the spot, while Birbal Meghwal (24) succumbed to injuries during treatment at a hospital in Sujangarh.Another man, Ishwar, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to govt Bagdiya Hospital in Sujangarh with the help of locals. He was later referred to Jaipur for advanced treatment. Police said the injured has been identified as Ishwarram Meghwal, a resident of Berasar.Bidasar deputy superintendent of police Nemichand also reached the spot after receiving information. The bodies were handed over to the families after postmortem.Police said the truck, reportedly loaded with FCI wheat, was abandoned at the scene as the driver fled. A search has been launched to trace the absconding driver.
