Ahmedabad: Ahmedabad reported three fatalities in separate road accidents in different parts of the city over the past few days, with police registering offences and initiating investigations in all cases.In Vastrapur, an 84-year-old man died in an alleged hit and run. The victim, a resident of Takshashila Towers, was walking towards Mansi Circle on Feb 25 when a speeding car struck him near Sudarshan Complex. The impact threw him onto the road, leaving him critically injured. He was rushed to hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Initially, family members were informed that he collapsed on the road, but a subsequent inquiry revealed it was a road accident. Vastrapur traffic police registered a case and launched a search for the driver. In another accident on SG Highway near Gota, a 60-year-old security guard succumbed to injuries after being hit by a two-wheeler while crossing the road near a car showroom. He was taken to hospital by bystanders but died during treatment. SG Highway traffic police registered a case against the rider and arrested him.In Vatva, a 19-year-old youth lost his life after his motorcycle rammed into a parked truck without parking lights near Ropda Crossroads on SP Ring Road. He sustained severe head injuries and died shortly after being admitted to hospital. Traffic police filed a case against the truck driver and are probing the circumstances.
