Authorities have launched a massive search operation after three inmates escaped from a Juvenile Observation Home in RS Pura on Monday evening, officials said.
The incident took place around 5:05 pm when the inmates allegedly attacked on-duty police personnel posted at the facility and managed to flee, they said.
The escapees have been identified as Ahsan Anwar, son of Mohammad Anwar, resident of Nankana Sahib, Punjab, Pakistan; Mohammad Sanaullah, son of Mohammad Zaffer, resident of Basti Jawewala, Tehsil Dinpur, District Muzaffarabad, Punjab, Pakistan; and Karanjit Singh alias Gugga, son of Arjun Singh, a resident of Dablehar in RS Pura.
Soon after the incident, police swung into action and cordoned off the surrounding areas while multiple teams were pressed into service to trace the fugitives.
Officials said efforts are underway to establish the exact sequence of events leading to the escape, and further details will be shared as the investigation progresses.
