Coimbatore: Three youths were arrested on Saturday night for selling drugs to youngsters, including college students, in the Madukkarai area. Police have seized 100 grams of ganja, 100 painkiller tablets and a two-wheeler used for peddling drugs from them.The Madukkarai police identified the arrested trio as S Ebinezar, 24, K Ranjith Kumar, 25, both residents of Sugunapuram near Kuniyamuthur, and P Hari Prasath, 21, of BK Pudur. A police officer said the trio were caught while selling painkillers to college students to get high. “Based on a specific tip about the sale of drugs, we conducted a search at JJ Nagar, Madukkarai, and detained the three while peddling prescription drugs to get high. They were in possession of ganja as well.” He said the trio were booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and lodged in jail under judicial custody.
