Bhilwara: Chittorgarh police arrested three persons and detained a minor after recovering two illegal country-made pistols (kattas) and four live cartridges during a late-night naka bandi operation late Sunday night. A case has been registered under the Arms Act, and further investigation is underway. Police arrested another accused Monday and detained a minor in connection with the case.Chittorgarh SP Dharmendra Singh said the district police have intensified night patrolling, naka bandi and checks on suspicious persons to curb illegal activities.The joint operation was carried out by District Special Team (DST) and Sadar police station team under the supervision of SHO Prem Singh Khangarot. While checking on Bojunda Road, police intercepted a scooty carrying two youths after they attempted to flee on being signalled to stop.The rider was identified as Anas Ansari and the pillion rider as Yogesh Bairwa. During questioning, the duo admitted carrying illegal weapons in the scooter’s storage compartment. A search led to the recovery of a pistol-like country-made katta, another .315 bore country-made katta and four live cartridges.SP Singh said Chittorgarh police will continue strict action against those possessing illegal weapons or involved in criminal activities.
