Bhagalpur: Three people died and four others were injured in a collision between a bike and a four-wheeler on the Sultanganj-Deoghar road in Banka district Saturday morning.The victims were identified as Rupesh Kumar Sah alias Bhagat Sah (28), Surendra Sah (40) and Baleshwar Sah (59), all residents of Banarjhop village in the Fullidumar police station area of Banka district, police sources said, adding all three belonged to the same joint family and were close relatives.The injured people were identified as Pushpa Kumari, Priya Kumari, Praveen Kumar Gupta and Khushboo Kumari. Among the four injured, the condition of two is stated to be critical.SHO of Jalebiya Mor police station, Raju Thakur, said, “Three persons riding a two-wheeler died on the spot while those sitting inside an SUV were seriously injured in the head-on collision. The impact was so intense that the SUV fell into a roadside ditch. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for postmortem at Banka Sadar Hospital while the injured persons are being treated at the emergency ward of the hospital.”The SUV was on its way to Deoghar in Jharkhand for religious rituals after the occupants had taken a bath at Ajgabinath Dham, situated on the banks of the Ganga in Sultanganj in Bhagalpur district. The speeding vehicle collided head-on with a bike coming from the opposite direction on the Kawariya road near Jalebiya Mor.The SUV was thrown nearly 50 feet off the road into the Haripur forest area. The injured are residents of Garhwa district in Jharkhand, sources said.
