Vasco: Mormugao police have filed an FIR against three people for their alleged involvement in the theft of iron pellets belonging to Delta Pvt Ltd from the premises of Mormugao Port Authority (MPA). The accused people, instead of loading coal at Adani Mormugao Pvt Ltd, had loaded the iron pellets from Delta Pvt Ltd.They tried to hoodwink the CISF officials, making them believe the consignment being carried out in the truck is steam coal. Police have seized the truck involved.The FIR was registered following a complaint from CISF MPA Goa unit official stating that the three accused— Asif Babasaheb Dambal, a native of Belagavi, Suresh Lad, a resident of Xeldem, the owner cum driver of the truck and an unidentified person— forged the weighment slip and presented the same as genuine before the CISF officials at around 7.30pm on Feb 26, while exiting the vehicle from the MPA gate.
