Chennai: Three men found carrying about 1,200 narcotic tablets and 1.5 kg of ganja were arrested by the RK Nagar police during a series of raids in North Chennai. The arrests followed a tip-off about the illegal storage and sale of narcotic substances in Tondiarpet.During the operation, police intercepted a man identified as Saddam Hussein, 29, of Netaji Nagar, Tondiarpet. Police recovered 150 narcotic tablets from him. Saddam told police that he bought the tablets from Mohanasundaram, 21, of Shastri Nagar, Tondiarpet. Police searched Mohanasundaram’s house and recovered another 400 narcotic tablets.Further questioning led investigators to Prem alias Eli, 24, of Tiruvottiyur. A raid at his residence resulted in the seizure of 650 narcotic tablets and 1.5 kg of ganja. The arrested trio was sent to Puzhal prison.
