Chennai: At least three men have been arrested so far on charges of gang-raping a 17-year-old girl near Gerugambakkam.The girl was travelling home on a two-wheeler with a friend after visiting another friend in the Kundrathur area. The friend, who was drunk, took her to a secluded spot near Gerugambakkam, where he summoned his associates and gangraped her.The girl’s parents filed a complaint with Porur all-women police, who detained a total of six for questioning. After inquiry, police arrested Mohammed Adhvik, 22, from Nandambakkam near Kundrathur. Based on information provided by him, two of his associates — Guruprasad, 20, and Ramesh, 21, both from Gerugambakkam — were also arrested.Investigation revealed the three accused committed the crime while under the influence of intoxicants.
