T’puram: The district received double honours in this year’s state revenue awards. Along with being named the best collectorate, the district’s sub-collector, Alfred O V, was selected as the best sub-collector in the state. Thiruvananthapuram was recognized not only for its administrative excellence but also for the outstanding interventions of the district administration.Speaker A N Shamseer gave away the awards at a function held at Co-Bank auditorium, PMG, on Tuesday.District collector Anu Kumari said that the award is dedicated to all the employees of the collectorate. She mentioned that despite the heavy workload due to being the capital district, the timely implementation of projects ensuring the socio-economic security of the people is made possible by the full support of the dedicated staff working without time constraints. The district administration implemented around 15 innovative projects aimed at social, cultural and economic upliftment of various sections of district’s population. The organ donation project, ‘Jeevandaan’, with 90% employee participation, is particularly significant. Through the ‘Jalasree’ groundwater recharge project, recharging was completed at 112 locations across six blocks in the district. Projects like ‘Project Arise – Super 100′, empowering students from socially and economically backward backgrounds; ‘Project X’, ensuring sexual education to foster a positive mindset among teenagers; ‘Unfiltered’, addressing issues related to stress, anxiety, academic pressure, social media influence and emotional isolation among youth; ‘Happy Trivandrum’, promoting a joyful urban life through community gatherings away from digital addiction; ‘Project Smile’, providing gifts to children in child protection institutions for Christmas and New Year; ‘Collector’s Campus Connect’, linking students with district administration; and ‘Oxygen Parks’ are some of the initiatives. The district showed excellent performance in the distribution of title deeds, forest rights documents and the resolution of land-related cases. It resolved 90.5% of title deed applications and 100% of forest rights document applications. A total of 81,470 applications related to land acquisition were resolved. Taluk-level adalats were organized to address 6,066 complaints.
