Bengaluru: A peaceful night’s sleep turned into a costly shock for a group of PG residents after thieves allegedly sneaked into their accommodation and stole eight mobile phones.According to a complaint filed by cab driver Darshan, 27, the incident happened on the night of May 28 at Sai Aradhya Luxury PG for Gents on Kudlu Main Road in Hosapalya.Darshan returned to the PG accommodation at 11pm and plugged in his two phones for charging before going to bed. His friends in other rooms had also kept their phones on charge.When Darshan woke up at 6am the following day, he was shocked to find that his phones were missing. A quick check revealed that six other phones belonging to other inmates were also missing.Based on Darshan’s complaint, a case was registered under BNS Section 305 (theft in a dwelling house, means of transportation, place of worship, etc.) at Bandepalya police station.The PG did not have a security guard. Police examined CCTV footage and found two thieves entering the building and exiting after committing the theft. The students had left the doors of their rooms unlocked.
