Nagpur: Unknown thieves broke into a transport businessman’s locked house in Bhandewadi, stole gold ornaments and cash worth ₹3lakh and set it ablaze on Saturday, police said.Suresh Rokde, 51, of Pawanshakti Nagar near the garbage dumping yard, locked his house around 7:30pm on Friday and left with family for a programme at his elder brother’s residence in Khapa, Saoner.A neighbour called him around 5:20am on Saturday to say the house was on fire. Fire brigade personnel extinguished the blaze.Vehicle documents, LED TV, cupboard, sofa, and grains were destroyed. Gold jewellery and his wife’s bhisi cash totalling Rs 2.81 lakh were missing from the cupboard. The accused had forced the main door lock.Bhandewadi police registered a case against unknown persons under BNS sections 305(8), 331(4), 324(4), and 326(c). Further investigation is underway.
