Daltonganj: Unidentified miscreants allegedly stole four computers and other electronic equipment from a govt upgraded middle school at Khendra Khurd in Palamu district, disrupting computer lessons for hundreds of students.Headmistress Sangita Kumari said the theft came to light on Friday. “Unidentified miscreants stole all computer accessories, from desktops to projector, paralysing computer teaching,” she said.Kumari said the school had five computer sets, of which one was non-functional. “The miscreants took away the four working computer sets,” she added.The stolen items included four keyboards, four mice, CPUs, UPS units. Sources said the thieves appeared to have prior knowledge of the condition of the equipment, as they left behind the non-functional computer.Officer in-charge of Chhaterpur police station, Saurabh Choubey, confirmed that an FIR has been lodged and an investigation is under way.The school, which imparts education up to Class VIII, has 384 students. Besides Kumari, the school has two teachers and a computer instructor-cum-operator.Sources said this is the third theft at govt schools in Palamu in the past two months.
