Popular educator Faizal Khan, better known as Khan Sir, is back in the spotlight after shots were fired outside his coaching institute near Musallahpur Haat in Patna on Tuesday. According to police, a security guard was injured in the incident and was taken to a hospital for treatment. Khan Sir has reportedly suspected that a rival coaching institute may be linked to the firing.

He recalled how studying in coaching hubs such as Kota remained out of reach for many families because of the high costs involved. He also remembered travelling in overcrowded train compartments and standing near doors because he feared penalties for not having proper tickets.
At a time when online education was not available, coaching expenses could run into lakhs of rupees every year, putting quality education beyond the reach of many students.

One of the most talked-about moments in Khan Sir’s career is his decision to reject a corporate offer reportedly worth ₹107 crore.
According to his own account, memories of financial hardship played a major role in that choice. He felt that countless students continued to face the same struggles he once experienced. He also pointed out that wealth and business success are temporary, noting that the company that had once made the offer no longer exists.
