Hyderabad: The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE) will organise an apprenticeship-cum-job mela across five govt junior colleges in the state from July 6 to 14, offering apprenticeship and placement opportunities to vocational students, freshers and job seekers, the board said in a release on Saturday.The drive, being conducted in collaboration with the Regional Directorate of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (RDSDE) under the Skill India Mission and National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS-2), is open to vocational students from the 2023-26 batches and those who cleared the Intermediate Public Examinations or IPASE in the last three academic years. Candidates who have already undergone apprenticeship training are not eligible.The mela will feature on-the-spot interviews, career counselling and recruitment for paramedical and non-paramedical roles. Candidates selected for apprenticeship training will receive a monthly stipend of ₹9,600 under the Apprenticeship Act.The mela will be held at SKPM Govt Vocational Junior College, Quthbullapur (July 6), Kasturba Gandhi Junior College, Maredpally (July 7), Govt Vocational Junior College, Hanamkonda (July 13), and Govt Vocational Junior Colleges in Mahabubnagar and Nalgonda (July 14). Paramedical interviews will be held in the forenoon and non-paramedical interviews in the afternoon. Candidates have been asked to carry two copies of their resume, educational certificates and Aadhaar card.
