HYDERABAD: Tension prevailed at Suraram village in Medak district after two persons from the village were killed in a span of 24 hours due to personal grudges between two auto drivers.The first murder occurred on Monday evening when Y Sridhar, 25, an auto driver from Suraram, was bludgeoned to death at Anantasagar village of Chegunta mandal by rivals R Prabhu, an auto driver from Suraram, and his associates, Tupakula Mahesh, Sandru Ganesh, Chinthala Prashanth and others, at 4. 30pm.The accused rammed into Sridhar’s bike with an auto rickshaw and later bludgeoned him to death. They tried to portray it as a road accident.Enraged with the murder of Sridhar, his father, Y Kishan, along with a relative, D Lingam, and their associate, Y Laxman, launched a search for Prabhu and his family. They located Prabhu’s father, R Yadagiri, at a hotel in Narsapur X roads in Toopran on Monday night and kidnapped him.The trio killed Yadagiri and dumped his body in Koppulapally dam under Yeldurthy PS limits during the early hours of Tuesday.Upon receiving information about the kidnapping, police teams launched a manhunt for the accused and apprehended some of them on Tuesday morning. On their confession, the body of Yadagiri was recovered.After the two murders, police were deployed in Suraram village to prevent further trouble. Police shifted both the bodies for postmortem and deployed force in the village to prevent any further trouble.During the preliminary probe, police found that Sridhar had taken Prabhu’s sister’s auto but failed to pay the agreed amount for it. Prabhu had even assaulted Sridhar during an argument about the payment and while the dispute was going on, a few weeks ago, Prabhu married a woman who is a cousin of Sridhar, against the wishes of her family.Police are in the process of registering FIRs in both the incidents.
