Jaisalmer: Uttar Pradesh ATS and Bijnor police arrested a man from Jaisalmer Friday for allegedly running a telegram network that orchestrated a series of arson attacks in Bijnor earlier this year. The accused, Rajuram Godara, a resident of Nachna in Jaisalmer district, allegedly was the key handler and administrator of the group, remotely directing youths in Uttar Pradesh. Officials said he has been booked under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), and the probe is now being jointly conducted by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and ATS. The case traces back to a March 4 incident in Kiratpur, Bijnor, where a pickup vehicle parked near a temple was set on fire. Forensic and technical analysis later indicated an organised conspiracy. Investigators said the main accused, Abuzar Shamim, received instructions via telegram from a handler using the alias “Abu Bakar”.TNN
