Hyderabad: A day after Telangana ministers and BRS working president KT Rama Rao and deputy leader T Harish Rao challenged public debate on alleged corruption in Gurukul tenders, state govt borrowings, developmental works and other issues, political tension prevailed both at Telangana martyr’s memorial and BRS party headquarters Telangana Bhavan on Thursday. While the ministers Ponnam Prabhakar, Adluri Laxman, Azharuddin and Jupally Krishna Rao reached Telangana martyr’s memorial at Gun Park for the debate, Harish Rao and other leaders were prevented from proceeding to Gun Park by the police and KTR waited for Krishna Rao at Bhavan. Later KTR was also taken into custody by the police.Speaking at Telangana Bhavan Harish Rao said Jupally Krishna Rao challenged us to come for a debate on borrowings and budget allocation and Gurukul schools’ tenders. “I was trying to reach out ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Adluri Laxman. They were not taking my calls and police prevented me from going to Gun Park,” Harish Rao said while showing his mobile phone call log.BRS working president KT Rama Rao, who waited at Telangana Bhavan for Jupally Krishna Rao, said the “Telangana minister openly challenged us, and we have been waiting for the minister since 10 am at Telangana Bhavan and we were prevented from going Gun Park,” he said. He said the ministers have the habit of throwing challenges and go back on that. The state govt did not respond on various scam and irregularities like Amruth tenders, Singareni tenders and other schemes, KTR said.Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said the BRS party was making baseless allegations on Gurukul schools tenders. “The tendering process was done with the utmost transparent manner. Making all the baseless allegations, gross injustice is being done to the poor SC, ST and BC students,” Prabhakar said.Meanwhile TRS chief Kalvakuntla Kavitha was taken into custody and shifted to Bolaram police station after she reached various places in Uppal assembly constituency on the proposed Bhu Poratam programme.ends/
