Compared to the national average of 85.3%, Telangana’s performance across categories remained significantly higher, placing the state among the better-performing regions

Hyderabad: Students from Telangana delivered a strong performance in the CBSE Class XII examinations this year, recording high pass percentages across categories and school systems, even as disparities persisted among different groups. Nationally, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) recorded an overall pass percentage of 85.3%, with girls outperforming boys by securing an 88.86% pass rate against 82.13% among boys.According to data released by CBSE, 5,413 students from Telangana appeared for the examination, of whom 5,160 cleared it. While the board did not release a combined state pass percentage, category-wise data showed that general category students recorded a pass percentage of 94.8%, while Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) students recorded pass percentages in the range of 88%-89%. Other Backward Classes (OBC) students recorded around 91.2%.Compared to the national average of 85.3%, Telangana’s performance across categories remained significantly higher, placing the state among the better-performing regions. However, it continued to trail top-performing CBSE regions such as Thiruvananthapuram and Bengaluru, where pass percentages typically exceed 97%-99%.Institution-wise, centrally run schools led the performance in the state. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) and Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) recorded pass percentages above 98%, while government schools posted around 93%. Independent private schools recorded about 91%-92%, while Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) remained in the high-80% range.The trend remains consistent with previous years, with Telangana continuing to post strong CBSE results, driven by near-perfect performances in central schools and steady outcomes in government institutions.CBSE has a significant presence in Telangana, with over 180 affiliated schools and more than 100 examination centres across the state.A majority of schools in the city recorded a 100% pass percentage. Glendale Academy recorded a 100% result in the CBSE Class XII examinations. Leading the cohort was Aditi Swapnil Bajaj with 495/500 (99%), followed by Shaurya Loya with 484/500 (96.8%) and Vansh Poddar with 483/500 (96.6%).“The results reflect the students’ dedication, consistent academic excellence, and the school’s commitment to nurturing a strong learning environment focused on holistic development and high academic standards,” school representatives said.The Hyderabad Public School, Ramanthapur also recorded a 100% pass percentage. Speaking about the results, principal Dr Narsimha Reddy said, “It is extremely gratifying to witness our students excel with such dedication and determination.
