Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy, who rushed from the assembly to catch a flight to Kerala, returned to his Jubilee Hills residence from the Shamshabad airport after being informed that he would not be able to reach in time for an election rally.Revanth was supposed to attend an election rally of the Congress-led United Democratic Front in Kozhikode. Sources said Revanth was invited after Rahul Gandhi, who was originally scheduled to attend the meeting, cancelled his visit as his mother Sonia Gandhi was admitted to a hospital in Delhi.The UDF rally at Kozhikode beach was held as planned on Wednesday, and it was addressed by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge in Rahul Gandhi’s absence. “Revanth returned from the airport, as he received a communication from Congress leaders in Kerala that the public meeting would be over by the time he reached the venue,” a senior Congress leader said.
