Kalyan: The Dombivli Govt Railway Police (GRP) were probing the suspected suicide of a minor girl who was initially believed to have died after being accidentally hit by a local train. The probe took a turn after her post-mortem revealed that she was around three months pregnant.The girl aged 17 died on Aug 2 after being struck by a local train between Kopar and Diva railway stations. Police had initially treated the incident as an accidental death. During the investigation, police learnt that the minor was allegedly in a relationship with Raj Pakad, a delivery executive working with a private company. According to police, the two had met through Instagram and their friendship later developed into a relationship. Pakad was arrested and produced before the Kalyan court, which remanded him in police custody till Aug 20.Police are now investigating the circumstances preceding the girl’s death and examining whether any other factors or persons were involved. The probe is underway.
