Gorakhpur: Police have solved the mystery behind the deaths of two teenagers from Bharatolia village in the Chauri Chaura area, linking the murder of a 14-year-old boy to his 17-year-old friend, who allegedly died by suicide the following day.According to police, Shiva Rajbhar, 14, was allegedly strangled to death by Shyam Rajbhar, 17, on Sept 23. The next day, Shyam died after jumping in front of a train near Sathwa.Investigators pieced together the sequence of events using CCTV footage and postmortem findings. CO Chauri Chaura Kundan Singh said the two boys were seen entering the Jal Kal premises at Chakdeiya village around 1 pm on Sept 23. CCTV footage captured both entering the campus, but about an hour and fifteen minutes later, Shyam was seen leaving alone. He was also seen cleaning his clothes before exiting the premises.Police said Shyam returned home and went to sleep. On Sept 24, his body was found on railway tracks near Sathwa. Preliminary investigation indicated that he had died after jumping in front of a train.The following day, Shiva’s decomposed body was discovered inside a room on the Jal Kal premises after a foul smell alerted locals, who informed police.The postmortem report confirmed that Shiva had been strangled. Police said that the motive behind the crime remains unclear, and police are questioning family members and acquaintances to ascertain the reason for the incident.
