Bengaluru: A 19-year-old youth working at a streetside eatery was found dead inside Atal Bihari Vajpayee Park in Kumaraswamy Layout Sunday morning. Police has arrested his friend, the accused in the case.The deceased has been identified as Rakesh aka Rocky, a resident of Rajyotsavanagar and the accused is Venkatesh, 27, who works as a helper for a chicken kabab center.Based on preliminary investigation, police said Rakesh and Venkatesh entered the park by jumping over the fencing after 8.30pm Saturday. They consumed liquor in the park.Later, an argument broke out between the two, and they allegedly abused each other. Venkatesh allegedly punched Rakesh in the face multiple times and smashed the back of his head against the ground before escaping once Rakesh died.Deputy commissioner of police (southwest) Anitha B Haddannavar said a case of murder has been registered at Kumaraswamy Layout police station.Both Rakesh and the suspect had worked at the eatery in the past, investigators said.
