Chennai: A 17-year-old boy died in a road accident near Periyapalayam on Sunday. Ritheesh, of Karikalan Nagar, Red Hills, and a Class XII student at a private school in Gummidipoondi. He was travelling on a motorcycle along with his relative Naresh, 18, towards Red Hills. When they reached near MGR Nagar in Sholavaram, their motorcycle collided with another motorcycle that was ahead of them. Parasuraman, 35, who was riding the other motorcycle, sustained serious injuries. Ritheesh fell and died on the spot. Naresh and Parasuraman were admitted to a private hospital and are undergoing treatment. The Red Hills police sent the body to Govt Stanley Hospital for postmortem. A case has been registered. Investigation is underway.
