New Delhi: An 18-year-old has been arrested and two minors apprehended for allegedly stealing valuables worth around Rs 1.2 crore during a late-night burglary at a shop and residence in Possangi Pur village in West Delhi’s Janakpuri last week.The complainant told cops that he runs the shop and lives in a rented accommodation in Janakpuri. He had reportedly closed the shop and house around 9.30 pm and Feb 21 and then left for his rented accommodation. When he opened the premises the next day around 11.15 am, he found that the house had been broken into and gold jewellery, diamond jewellery, silver articles and cash had allegedly been stolen. A case was registered at the Janakpuri police station. “The team gathered manual intelligence and conducted technical surveillance. A tip-off was received on Feb 24 about two minor suspects, who were apprehended near the Possangipur park,” said DCP (west) Darade Sharad Bhaskar.The juveniles led police to their co-accused, identified as Divyansh Sharma from Possangipur village, who was then arrested.Police have recovered around 650 grams of gold jewellery, around 3 kg of silver articles and cash amounting to around Rs 7 lakh from their possession. The valuables are estimated to amount to Rs 1.2 crore. The motorcycle allegedly used in the commission of the offence has also been seized.
