Dhanbad: Deputy commissioner Aditya Ranjan on Saturday felicitated a group of officials and teachers who nursed JAC board examinees, who were injured in a road accident, and helped them write their papers by making special arrangements.At around 8 am on Friday, 11 students of Rajendra Kanya Middle School were travelling in a van to appear for their English paper at KBR High School in Mahuda via Chhatrutand panchayat when their vehicle was rammed by a truck from behind at Sinidih Mor. The impact of the collision caused the van to flip twice.

Two examinees, Komal Kumari and Anjali Kumari, sustained serious injuries, while others suffered minor bruises. Responding promptly, block programme officer Vikas Lal Das and community response person Madan Mohan Jha and block education Officer Ashok Kumar Pal rushed to the spot.The injured students were taken to a local clinic for primary treatment. Principal Jay Horo of BTM Plus Two High School, and Rajesh Srivastava of KBR High School, extended support. The students were then ferried to their examination centre in a private vehicle where special seating arrangements were made for the seriously injured candidates. A team of govt doctors camped at the centre until the exam concluded. “Such teachers and officials exemplify responsibility, compassion and commitment to duty,” Ranjan said at the function.
