Ranchi: The district administration will deploy security forces at 200 spots on Sunday to maintain law and order during Shivratri festivities. Colourful Shiv Baraat processions will be taken out to the streets and will be attended by thousands.In an order earlier this week, the district administration said over 20 magistrates and 500 cops will be deployed around Pahari Mandir. A control room, led by executive magistrate Md Jafar Hasnat, would also be set up at the Pahari Mandir. Ranchi sub-divisional officer said heavy deployment will also be made at the Sureshwar Dham Mandir in Chutia on the occasion.
Traffic movement in the city will be restricted on Sunday. Traffic SP Rakesh Singh issued a notification stating that in view of the Pahari Mandir Shiv Baraat barricades would be put up on the Shani Mandir-Pahari Mandir road, Durga Mandir-Pahari Mandir road, Meenakshi Gali-Pahari Mandir road, Sukhdev Nagar road, near the Balaji Mandir, and roads from Guashala cutting to Pahari Mandir and Sulabh Sauchalaya to Pahari Mandir.He said, “The restrictions around the Pahari Mandir would be effective from 2 am on Sunday. The heavy vehicles moving towards the area would be diverted. The entry of heavy vehicles in the city would be barred from 5 am to 10 pm. They would be stopped at Boriya, Birsa Chowk, Kathal More, Piska More, ITI Bus Stand, Durga Soren Chowk, Kusai, Chandini Chowk and Booty More on the outskirts of the city.”Singh said small vehicles coming from the Booty More and Boriya would move via Karamtoli Chowk and the Jail Chowk. Similarly, the small vehicles coming from Jail Chowk can move towards Booty More via the Karamtoli Chowk and Bariatu.According to the notification the movement of vehicles would be barred in Ratu area during the Shiv Baraat. Vehicles can move towards the Ratu Road, New Market and the Harmu Chowk only after the end of rituals. All types of vehicles coming towards the city area would be stopped at Piska More during the procession.The vehicles coming from Kathal More would take a U-turn and move via the Chaputoli. Vehicles coming from Tilta Toli would take a U turn from Piska More and move via the Chaputoli.
