Jaisalmer: A govt schoolteacher in Barmer was suspended Tuesday after female colleagues accused him of sending obscene messages and issuing rape and death threats. The women approached the district administration, alleging sustained harassment and intimidation.According to officials, four female teachers from two govt schools met the Barmer District Collector Monday and submitted a written complaint along with screenshots of WhatsApp chats. They alleged that the accused sent obscene messages, made late-night calls, and threatened to abduct a teacher from her home, rape her, and kill her, causing severe mental distress. The complainants added that the accused posted objectionable content and threats on a school WhatsApp group. They further alleged that a female principal and staff members of another school were abused and harassed through similar messages. Additional District Magistrate Rajendra Singh Chandawat confirmed that three to four teachers submitted a complaint with supporting screenshots. He said the matter was heard and the education department was asked to take action. District Education Officer (Elementary) Krishna Singh suspended the teacher and shifted his headquarters to the Sedwa BEEO office. A departmental inquiry has also been initiated. The accused was reportedly running a teachers’ association in his own name.
