Govt school teacher Bhawani Singh who died after census duty in Bharatpur’s Halena on Thursday evening

Alwar: A 39-year-old govt schoolteacher died of a suspected heart attack in Halena town of Bharatpur district, shortly after returning from census duty Thursday evening.According to police, schoolteacher Bhawani Singh returned to his rented room around 6pm and complained of anxiety, restlessness and chest pain to neighbours. He was rushed to the primary health centre (PHC) in Halena, but lost consciousness on the way. Doctors declared him dead on arrival.Halena SHO Brajendra Singh said the schoolteacher was a resident of Jhunjhunu district and was posted at the Govt Upper Primary School in Bevar village and was currently deployed on census duty.Family members who reached Halena Friday said he had no known history of heart disease. His father Hemaram said Singh retired from the Indian Navy and later joined the state education department as a Grade III teacher. He received his first posting in Halena on July 5, 2024, and was to complete his probation on July 5. He is survived by two sons aged 12 and 4.Dr Ravish Yadav, the medical officer at Halena PHC, said a post-mortem was conducted and preliminary findings indicated a heart attack, adding that the symptoms reported by those who brought him in were consistent with it. After the post-mortem, Singh’s body was handed over to the family Friday morning.
