Bank loans have long served as an important source of credit for rural and semi-urban communities in India, offering access to organised financing for people who may not always find it easy to approach commercial banks. With a loan limit of up to Rs 10 lakh and a relatively simple, document-light application process, the DCCB housing loan scheme seeks to provide residents of Tamil Nadu with an accessible avenue to build, repair or expand their homes.
