Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay on Monday marked 100 days of his government’s tenure, highlighting a range of welfare measures, farmer-focused initiatives, skill development programmes and investment commitments under the theme “100 Days of Governance – A Government for Generations”.

Releasing a report on the government’s achievements, Vijay said the administration had focused on women’s safety, farmers’ welfare, youth skill development and transparent governance.

According to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), the government has established the Singapenn Special Task Force for Women Safety. Under the Thaaimaaman Thanga Mothiram Scheme, every newborn delivered at a government hospital will receive a 1-gram gold ring, with Rs 560 crore earmarked for the programme.

The Annan’s Seer Scheme provides eligible women with an 8-gram gold coin and a silk saree for marriage, for which the government has allocated Rs 812 crore.

On education and employment, the government said the Vettri Skill Training Scheme had provided skill development training to 12 lakh students and 1 lakh youth. The Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Breakfast Scheme was expanded to cover an additional 15.14 lakh students in Classes 6-8 across 15,414 schools, with Rs 710 crore allocated for the expansion.
The government has also earmarked Rs 2,000 crore under the Vettri Laptop Scheme to provide laptops to college students. Class XI students in government and government-aided schools are being provided branded bicycles along with helmets and water bottles, the CMO said.For farmers, the government announced a Rs 6,000 crore crop loan waiver, while special incentives of Rs 4,000 per tonne for sugarcane and Rs 2,750 per quintal for paddy have been announced.

The Vettri Housing Scheme has been allocated Rs 3,500 crore, while TN-VETTRI will receive Rs 6,000 crore annually for improving water supply, solid waste management, sanitation and rural connectivity. The Vettri 150 Scheme guarantees 150 days of employment, while the Vettri Magalir Goat Rearing Scheme provides five goats or sheep to disadvantaged women and transgender individuals.

On investment, the Vettri Tamil Nadu Investment Conclave 2026 secured commitments worth Rs 1 lakh crore, according to the CMO.

The government also said it had constituted 65 special task forces under STING — Special Task Force for Interdiction of Narcotics and Gangs — to combat drug trafficking. A total of 717 liquor shops located near educational institutions, temples and bus stands were closed, it added.

The administration has also taken steps towards what it described as “Honest and Transparent governance”, including faster plan approvals and faceless property registration.

Domestic consumers using up to 500 units of electricity every two months will receive 200 units free, the CMO said.

The Chief Minister said the 100-day report reflected the government’s commitment to a “Conscience of the People for an Era”.
