Chennai: TMC leader G K Vasan, IJK leader T R Paarivendhar and Puratchi Bharatham leader Poovai Jaganmurthy on Friday announced their candidates for the April 23 polls as part of the AIADMK-led NDA.Vasan named former MLA ‘Vidiyal’ S Sekar for Oddanchatram, M Yuvaraja for Erode West, V M Karthikeyan for Ranipet, J Nivin Simon for Killiyur and M R K Ashok Kumar for Kumbakonam. All five candidates will contest under BJP’s ‘lotus’ symbol. “We did not get the constituencies we sought. There is nothing wrong in admitting that,” Vasan said, after announcing the candidates. He also released the party’s manifesto for the polls.Paarivendhar announced advocate Venkatesan and Sarayana Anbazhagan as party candidates for Pallavaram and Kunnam. He said they would be fielded under AIADMK’s ‘two leaves’ symbol.Poovai Jaganmurthy declared himself as the party’s candidate from Kilvaithinankuppam (reserved). He too will contest under AIADMK’s symbol, as he did in the previous assembly election.Puthiya Neethi Katchi leader A C Shanmugam said two seats have been allocated for his party. “We will field one candidate under AIADMK’s symbol and another under BJP’s. As of now, Madurai Central constituency has been confirmed,” he said.
