Gorakhpur: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday directed officials to take strict action in land grabbing cases and warned that those harassing the poor would not be spared.“Such elements must not be spared, and the rights of the poor must be protected,” he said.The chief minister met around 200 people at a Janata Darshan programme in Gorakhpur, collected their applications and assured them that the govt will take effective action to address their grievances.“Do not worry. The govt will ensure action on all your problems,” he said, reiterating the need for prompt and sensitive handling of public complaints.He directed officials to adopt a time-bound and satisfactory approach in grievance redressal. Moving among the seated visitors outside Mahant Digvijaynath Smriti Bhawan at Gorakhnbath Temple, he personally heard each complaint and handed over applications to officials with necessary instructions. He emphasized that all cases must be dealt with fairly, transparently and within a fixed timeline.Several family disputes were also brought to his notice. The CM advised resolving such matters through dialogue, failing which appropriate legal action should be taken.Responding to requests for medical financial assistance, the CM assured that no one would be denied treatment due to lack of funds. He instructed officials to promptly prepare estimates for required treatment so that financial aid could be released without delay.The CM also met women who had brought their children along and was seen distributing chocolates and offering his blessings.Earlier in the morning, Yogi performed rituals at the temple and paid homage at the samadhi of his guru, Mahant Avaidyanath. Continuing his routine, he visited the temple’s cowshed, spent time with the cattle and fed them jaggery.
