Lucknow: The reading room of Tagore Library at the University of Lucknow will reopen for students on Saturday, Sept 19, after remaining closed for nearly 18 months, the university administration said on Friday.The facility has undergone fresh painting and other improvements, while dampness-related issues have also been addressed. Wall tiles and flooring have been repaired or replaced, and table lamps and fans have been fixed.According to LU officials, the reading room, which has a seating capacity of around 400, had remained inaccessible during the prolonged renovation period. It is widely used by students preparing for competitive examinations as well as research scholars..Librarian Roli Mishra said, “The reading room has been renovated keeping in mind the needs of students and research scholars. We have worked to improve the basic facilities so that students can have a more comfortable and productive space for reading and research.”
