Hyderabad: Congress high command has told Telangana Congress brass, including chief minister A Revanth Reddy, to ensure that “indiscipline is not tolerated even at the ministers’ level, internal differences should be settled and coordination between District Congress Committee (DCC) presidents, particularly MLAs and ministers i.e., party and the govt is improved at all costs”.“AICC does not want to lose Telangana as it is one of the few states where Congress is strong and should come back to power at all costs. To achieve this endeavour, every one should work as a team, ensure every eligible voter name is retained by helping them to submit documents in the crucial second phase of SIR, and prepare the ground to win the ensuing elections to the two graduate MLCs at all costs,” the party high command reportedly conveyed to Telangana Congress leaders by AICC in charge of Telangana Meenakshi Natarajan at the coordination meeting in New Delhi on Wednesday.The meeting was attended by the CM, deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka, TPCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud, ministers N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Damodar Rajanarasimha and D Anasuya (Seethakka), CWC special invitee Ch Vamshi Chand Reddy and AICC leader Sachin Sawant. Meenakshi chaired the meeting.A senior AICC leader told TOI that the meeting focused on the crucial second phase of SIR that would start after (the first phase concludes) Aug 3. “As every single voter name, especially the expected or assumed Congress voter name should not miss the SIR final list, the meeting decided to fill up corporations, party and other nominated posts only after the final voter list of SIR is published in Oct first week. Priority would be given to those who work hard in the SIR exercise in giving nominated posts,” the AICC leader said.While the Congress top guns were told to ensure that they reach out to the youth and Gen Z and ensure they support the grand old party, Revanth Reddy informed the meeting that youth were strongly behind Congress and that there was not much support of Gen Z for BRS or BJP in Telangana. The Congress govt has filled up nearly 70,000 govt posts and has created thousands of private jobs by attracting investments and industries to the state, he added.TPCC chief Mahesh Goud told the media in New Delhi that the AICC leadership wanted improved coordination between the party and govt to effectively take the welfare schemes and development agenda to the doorsteps of the voters.The meeting also discussed appointments of DCC presidents of Rangareddy and Sangareddy districts and the Ramagundam Town Congress president. AICC observers were expected to visit Telangana shortly to complete the appointment process.He urged booth-level agents (BLAs) and party workers to remain vigilant during the final phase of the revision and fully utilise district and mandal-level committees to achieve 100% completion.Deputy chief minister Bhatti Vikramarkacalled on party workers to accelerate the SIR exercise and said discussions were also held on taking welfare schemes and development programmes more effectively to the people through the party machinery.
