Pune: Two engineering students were recently found wearing Ray-Ban Meta glasses while appearing for semester examinations at the Symbiosis Institute of Technology, Pune.
Vidya Yeravdekar, Pro Chancellor of Symbiosis International University, said that since the glasses can be used to access AI, click pictures, etc, students should not wear them during examinations, and hence the invigilator caught the students.
“No evidence of them accessing ChatGPT or using it for unfair means has been found yet. However, a report has been filed with the Unfair Means Committee, which at the institution level and then at the university level will investigate the matter, interact with the students, and then decide the punishment. The students have been debarred from that examination pending the committee’s report,” said Yeravdekar.
