Kolkata: The first meeting of the West Bengal cabinet, led by the ninth Chief Minister of West Bengal Suvendu Adhikari will be held at the state secretariat at Nabanna on Monday.

Today morning, Adhikari’ first went to BJP state president in West Bengal Samik Bhattacharya’s residence. Thereafter, accompanied by Bhattacharya, Adhikari went to the BJP Party office. Everywhere, outside Adhikari’s residence, Bhattacharya’s residence and BJP party office, people assembled in large numbers to catch a glimpse of Adhikari.

The new cabinet, including the Chief Minister, will operate from Nabanna, the existing state secretariat, till the renovation of Writers’ building is completed. The new state secretariat started functioning from Nabanna on October 5, 2013.
After holding a meeting with Adhikari, Bhattacharya said, “The new government and party will have close coordination. The new state government will implement the party’s manifesto. However, this will not be the BJP government but the West Bengal government.”

Adhikari will chair the first meeting of the state cabinet today afternoon where the names of additional members of the Bengal cabinet and portfolio distribution will be conducted.

After the meeting of the state cabinet, the Chief Minister is also scheduled to chair important various meetings with state bureaucrats, including the Chief Secretary and other departmental secretaries, with his cabinet ministers, then another meeting with all the District Magistrates and top police officers of the state, including the Commissioners of Kolkata Police, Polcie Superintendents and other Police Commissionerates.
